According to reports, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has awarded 'Singham 3' a UA certificate. However, the film had to undergo a few changes. The CBFC committee watching the movie recommended altering two 23-second long "match cut" scenes as needed. Additionally, some scenes have been deleted.
Ajay Devgn's multi-starrer 'Singham 3' is ready for release today. On November 1, 'Singham' and his team are set to entertain audiences during Diwali. This Friday, 'Singham Again' will clash with Kartik Aaryan's 'Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.' Now, with the CBFC certificate granted, reports indicate that the censor board made several edits and cut some scenes from the film.
Major Changes by the CBFC
According to a Bollywood Hungama report, the CBFC has given 'Singham 3' a UA certificate. However, the film had to undergo some modifications. The CBFC committee asked to alter two 23-second long "match cut" scenes, where Lord Ram, Sita, and Hanuman were depicted as Singham, Avni, and Simba. Similarly, a scene of Singham touching Lord Ram’s feet was also asked to be modified.
In addition to this, there were several cuts in the film. The report states that the censor board asked the makers to remove a 16-second scene depicting Ravan grabbing, pulling, and pushing Sita. In another 29-second scene, Hanuman is shown burning, and Simba is seen flirting; the CBFC had this scene deleted as well. Dialogues for a character named Zubair were modified in four scenes, and some scenes featuring Kareena Kapoor's character Avni were also altered.
Moreover, a 26-minute dialogue and scene were modified by the CBFC, stating that it could impact India’s international relations with neighboring states. Additionally, a beheading scene in a police station was blurred, religious flags in the same scene were changed, and a background chant to Lord Shiva was deleted. A dialogue by Zubair that said, "I am the Ravan of your story, send your favorite" was also modified, along with the color of a flag in the scene.
Disclaimer Added to the Film
The censor board asked the makers to add a disclaimer at the beginning of the movie. It will state, "This film is entirely fictional. While the storyline might be inspired by Lord Ram, none of the characters in the film should be viewed as deities. It portrays people, society, culture, and traditions of the present day." This disclaimer will be displayed for 1 minute and 19 seconds on screen. With all the cuts, totaling 7 minutes and 12 seconds, the film was passed by the censor board on October 28. The film has a runtime of 2 hours, 24 minutes, and 12 seconds.
Directed by Rohit Shetty, 'Singham 3' stars Ajay Devgn along with Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Akshay Kumar, and Deepika Padukone. Jackie Shroff, Dayanand Shetty, Shweta Tiwari, Ashwini Kalsekar, and others appear in supporting roles, while Arjun Kapoor plays the villain. 'Singham 3' releases in theaters on November 1.
